В прошлое воскресенье на «Международном форуме науки и технологий в обществе», что проходил в Киото, состоялось выступление Аркадия Дворковича, вице-премьера России. Во время выступления, в числе прочего, он упомянул, что в качестве транспортного средства для гостей Чемпионата мира будут использоваться беспилотные средства передвижения. Это будет реализовано не всюду, а лишь на подготовленных участках, но все же, факт того, что будут задействованы такие автобусы не может не порадовать.

О том что на ЧМ 2018 будут представлены отечественные разработки подобного плана слухи ходили давно, но подтверждений этому не было до настоящего момента. Как предполагается, эти транспортные средства, созданные при участии ПАО «КАМАЗ», будут двигаться со скоростью 60 км/ч и смогут подзаряжаться на специально собранных станциях. Поскольку данные разработки оснащаются специальной системой для движения по разметке, в будущем планируется повсеместное ее внедрение.
Кроме автобусов «КАМАЗ» в России есть также и другие ТС, которые способны передвигаться самостоятельно. Одна из самых перспективных разработок, это универсальная платформа MATRЁSHKA от компании VolgaBUS. Ее особенность состоит в том, что она может превращается как в автобус, так и в грузовик.
