Deutsche Telekom и шведский оператор Tele2 представили инновационный формат SIM-карты под названием rSIM. Главной особенностью этой карты является возможность подключения сразу двух операторов связи на одном чипе, всего в одном слоте для SIM.
Разработчики объясняют, что в одной SIM-карте будут активны два номера от различных операторов. Это новшество поддерживается как кнопочными мобильными телефонами, так и смартфонами. rSIM использует запатентованную технологию для постоянного мониторинга подключения к собственной сети и автоматического переключения между поставщиками услуг в случае возникновения проблем. Для этого в памяти rSIM хранятся независимые модули двух операторов связи: один из них считается основным, а переход на второго происходит лишь в случае возникновения проблем с сетью первого оператора.
Отмечается, что данная технология будет особенно востребована в устройствах интернета вещей, которым требуется постоянная связь с сетью. Кроме того, rSIM найдет применение в системах умных городов и промышленной автоматизации.
"rSIM (Resilient SIM) - это первая в мире по-настоящему устойчивая и интеллектуальная SIM-карта. Она не зависит от устройства и постоянно контролирует свое подключение. rSIM использует новую запатентованную технологию для проверки собственного сетевого соединения и автоматического переключения операторов при возникновении неполадок, что снижает вероятность отключения SIM-карты и устройства во время сбоев. Эта новая интеллектуальная SIM-карта обещает значительное улучшение сетевого подключения для устройств IoT и мобильного интернета", - говорится в пресс-релизе на сайте rSIM.
