Около трех лет назад компания Apple решилась на довольно смелый эксперимент, целью которого было введение нового способа оплаты контента внутри приложений. Условно новая схема работала так: клиентская часть с минимальным набором функций распространялась бесплатно или за символическую сумму, однако и в этой ограниченной версии было все необходимое, чтобы оценить функционал программы и принять решение о покупке остальных частей программы за отдельную плату. При этом был совершен переход от оплаты игровыми деньгами к деньгам реальным, что тоже было достаточно ново.
Подобный способ распространения был взят на вооружение и другими дистрибьюторами, поэтому в очередной раз инновация, введенная Apple, получила распространение и вне AppStore.
Однако предыдущая версия схемы распространения, условно называемая Full и предполагающая единоразовую покупку приложения и последующих обновлений, тоже жива. Что в конечном счете победит, станет понятно в будущем — пока говорить о безоговорочной победе рано.
